Priebus defends Trump pick: 'That's not the Steve Bannon I know'
The Hill ^ | November 14, 2016 | JESSIE HELLMANN

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus on Monday defended Donald Trump's decision to appoint Steve Bannon as his chief strategist and senior counselor.

Pundits and politicians have slammed the decision to hire Bannon, the former head of Brietbart News, labeling him as anti-Semitic, racist and misogynistic. "The guy I know is a guy that isn't any of those things," Priebus said on NBC's "Today" show Monday.

He added that Bannon is "very, very smart, very temperate, and together we've been able to manage a lot of the decision making in regard to the campaign, along with Kellyanne [Conway] and it's worked very well."

Priebus carried the same line of defense to Fox News's "Fox & Friends," where he described Bannon, who also served as Trump's campaign CEO, as a "wise and smart" person.

On ABC's "Good Morning America," Priebus dismissed critics who have called Bannon a "white supremacist."

"First of all, I don't know where they're coming from. That's not the Steve Bannon I know. I've sat with him for months. I have never, one time, experienced that," Priebus said.

"You have to look at the person. I think you have to get to know the person... I find him not to be the way he's being accused. I find him to be the opposite, and I think people need to give people time and give people an opportunity and not make judgments. Don't make judgments based on what other people say."

I had a Chinese student tenant about 15 years ago and the Chinese govt decided they didn’t want to maintain the properties there, so sold to the tenants with a 15/20 year mortgage. I had the feeling that if the Chinese government changed their mind there was going to be a rebellion.

China was moving in the right direction and we were gong in the wrong direction.

Unfortunately ignoring the false accusations is not an option. We saw how well that worked for GWB. On the other hand, Donald Trump would not have been nominated, much less elected, had he "ignored" the MSM. Trump was elected because he is a fighter and he does not take attacks lying down.

What is this anti-Semitic nonsense? Breitbart is the most pro-Israel site out there. These media idiots pretend he’s running Stormfront.org or something. WHY DON’T TRUMP AND PRIEBUS JUST TELL REPORTERS...”STOP LYING!”

“Anti-semitic, racist, misogynistic.”

These pikers left out zenophobic and homo/lesbophobic. They’re really slipping.

-- Didn't Trump hire Priebus, who said Trump would not become POTUS, to be his chief of staff? --

I don't believe Priebus ever took the position that Trump would not be elected. In the primaries, he was pretty good at "hands off," saying only that the party would support the nominee. And after Trump was nominated, Priebus supported the nominee.

Not to say he isn't GOP-E, but at least outwardly and by his actions, he has been supportive of Trump.

The idea Linda Graham likes Prince Reibus is enough reason to disqualify disqualify him

Hurling accusations of racism, bigotry, etc., has to stop. There is NO ONE who hasn’t been guilty of such action sometime in their life. We all have done this and to call other people the same is hypocritical and a waste of time.

Just like that illegal tape of a conversation on a bus. I don’t think there is one person alive who hasn’t talked like that or thought like that sometime in their past.

Now adultery is another matter as is robbing a bank or something like that. I can honestly say I never did that; but using the N word, or salty language? Let’s get real.

The media does not gain any ground by impugning the integrity of a man.

Where have you been?

Let’s face it, according to the left-wing media (but I repeat myself) we’re all racists.

This might be where all the anti-Semitic stuff is coming from.

Bannon's ex-wife swore in court in 2007 that he “didn’t want the girls going to school with Jews...He said he doesn’t like Jews..."

Trump does not win WI without what Priebus and Ryan did. Of course, it was in their own self-interest to do so. Look, Trump, as a real estate guy, has had to work with all kinds of people he doesn’t like in order to get HIS PLAN DONE. He will do the same thing as president.

Follow his lead...

he new angle is anyone not wearing a safety pin is a bigot, racist etc. I have already seen teachers wearing the safety pin. With this definition, half the country falls in this category.

Here's my idea of a symbolic safety pin. Freeper 3D-Joy used to make these for the DCChapter members who freeped Walter Reed for seven years, countering the leftie anti-war loons.

“I slept on white sheets last night and once drove across the Robert K Byrd memorial bridge.”

We drove between NY and TN and part of the trip was on the Robert Byrd highway in WV. We were amused to see gas stations at exits named, “Sheetz”.

Why are they appearing on these shows? Stupid idea. They just won an election in part by pantsing the media, and then they aid them by appearing on their shows?

Insanity, literally. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Reagan TALKED PAST the media.

“She went to the store the other day to purchase shoes for her daughter. There were hundreds of pairs of shoes to choose from and nobody from government to help her. When she got here the two of them had to find a larger apartment, she exclaimed that nobody from the government helped them do that, they had to do it all on their own, it was scary. What if they made a mistake?”

The melting-down snowflakes are America’s future. This is what they’ll be whining about in 15 years.
