They’re forgetting about federal properties. BLM, parks, military bases, etc are of significant size & value, and may not be abandoned by the legal owner.

Remember: the Civil War started when Fort Sumter was attacked for being occupied by a now foreign government, and the USA doesn’t end until the attacker unconditionally surrenders. CA isn’t ready for a full on war with the USA.

I, for one, am a Californian that supports Calexit, but for reasons different than most.

My plan? Let CA succeed, and as soon as it is complete I plan on invading and taking it for myself. I figure a sharpened stick and maybe a board with a nail in it will do. The sissys that want Calexit will melt before my board with a nail in it.

The only trouble is, do I reunite with America after I take it? Or do I officially stand up “Angrywhitemenistan”?

“Secede? When their own state can’t even handle
Itself? Are they effing stupid?”

Uhh yep. Very stupid. I live there. Believe me you even begin to comprehend the idiocy.

“They can secede AFTER they apologize to the Confederate state and pay reparations for the destruction.”

Damn straight!

Good point. They owe about a trillion dollars. They can also refund all federal funds for the last couple centuries, pay fair market value for federally owned land, pay relocation & losses for all dissenters, and pay a 25% inconvenience fee. Otherwise we’ll consider it theft and seize assets accordingly.

Californian people produce lots of good stuff. Of course, there should be trade with the seceding territory. I even think we should respect the rebels’ intellectual property to a certain extent.

What about Calgone?

Good luck to you. We did it here in Texas 150 years ago. The US Army came in and beat the crap out of us. So good luck.

Secession did not go well the last time. You really want to go there?

If you (Cali) do, Mexico will take over you so fast! They already have their FIFTH COLUMN in place, probably with FAST AND FURIOUS weaponry.

California belongs to the USA. 6th biggest economy in the world. Nice wine. Great weather (at least in the South part).

The unhappy liberals there can just move to Mexico. They can also move to Canada but that would make them racist.

They want to secede? OK. Here are the peaceful terms...

1. First, eject the illegal aliens so they cannot vote or influence the election

2. Set the secession election date for 1 year after at least 95% of The Wall is complete and a minimum of 95% of the illegal aliens in California have been sent home to their own respective countries

3. The seceding State will set up a $200 billion "retrenchment and reimbursement" fund for reparations to those individuals and companies who don't want to secede but feel forced to move if the vote to secede is successful in their county. Relocation and subsequent reimbursement is to take place within 3 years of "Independence".

4. Vote whether to secede or not is by county. Counties who do not secede will be joined and comprise the "new" State of California with the full rights and privileges of the "old" California and retain attachment to the Union. Geographically isolated counties from others of their same choice must be given a permanent land road access corridor to the nearest county of their new political partnership (control of such property will remain under jurisdiction of the original county, much like the "Berlin Corridors" after WWII). Seceding counties will join and comprise a new independent nation.

5. A supermajority vote of 60% of those registered and voting (valid voter registration ID of USA citizenship is required to vote) is required to secede, county by county

6. The seceding counties will assume and pay a pro-rated percentage of the Federal debt as determined on the date of election, the amount determined on population

7. USA military forces will retain a 99 year lease and unrestricted access to all federal bases and naval facilities (such as with Guantanamo Bay/Cuba)

8. The seceding counties will retain public infrastructure and all National Guard facilities and equipment within their respective borders

9. "Independence" from the Union will take place 6 months after the election date

(This is not a complete list but would be a starting template for a peaceful secession arrangement)

All emotion and no reasoning. It’d be a disaster for them. They might want to think about where they get their water.

Unlike the Civil War, we have airborne terminators to wipe out secessionist government officials and bypass any forts or military bases the secessionist military has.

Are any of the cities coastal? Guess they need to approve of desalination facilities for tens of millions of people.

I think if it were all added up, it would be enough to buy California outright. Idiot libs never quite think things through.

Remove the populations of the coastal cities; and, the state would not be a Democrat voting block.
