Two of the writers who worked on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story jumped into the political fray on Friday with not-so subtle anti-Donald Trump messages.
Please note that the Empire is a white supremacist (human) organization, screenwriter Chris Weitz tweeted. Gary Whitta, who also worked on the film, followed up by adding, Opposed by a multi-cultural group led by brave women.

You can add me to the list. They can FOAD now.
The last Star Wars movie was complete, boring crap...why would anyone want to see another?
I started rooting for the Empire this year, and the reason why is because George Lucas actually based the Rebels on an actual terrorist organization, the Vietcong, so I obviously can’t root for them (especially when I know full well what the Communists did to us Christians. Honestly... the communists need a dose of their own medicine [clenches fist]). I learned that from reviews of the book “How Star Wars Conquered the Universe” by Chris Trevas, and I got suspicions of it back in 2012 when Bill Whittle mentioned that George Lucas specifically stated that the Ewoks were based on the Vietcong and the Empire was supposed to represent America.
And I already had some misgivings about Rogue One with the commentary that’s being given about the film as well as the pictures. Now... I’m coming MUCH closer to not going to see it at all (I’m already holding back until I get verification on whether it is indeed a good movie, especially after how lousy The Force Awakens turned out to be). Honestly, can’t people just keep a lid on their politics, or at least WAIT until it’s out of theaters before they spout off?!
Well, at least Bob Iger won’t be with us any longer, which may give us actual change to Disney and bring it back to its roots with whoever succeeds the company (then again, we got Bob Iger even when there were plenty of other viable candidates).
Well, Weitz just issued an apology on Twitter, though I doubt that would be enough:

Innocent escape my a**....
And look at the responses
“It’s so sad you have to apologize for standing up against bigotry - I hate America”
Yeah - still not gonna see it.
And....off my list to buy on Amazon.
I’m just sorry these dickless fairies profited from my theater purchases.
Lol, a “multicultural group” including 2 Asians added to make it more sellable to the Chinese movie audience. Capitalism wins again.
