A role for Newt Gingrich in Trump administration?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | November 9, 2016 | Dan Chapman

Former Georgia congressman Newt Gingrich is sitting pretty today, a likely choice for a top position in President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

U.S. Secretary of State Gingrich, anybody?

“I fully expect that Newt will get some type of very prominent position in the Trump administration,” Peake said Wednesday morning. “Who knows? There’s probably a handful of people who can name what they want and Newt would be on that short list.

Larry Sabato, who runs the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, said Gingrich as secretary of state wouldn’t allow for many dull moments.

“If I owned a China shop I’d sell it, because Gingrich, in whatever role Trump gives him, will be a bull,” Sabato said via email. “Gingrich finally got his revenge on the Clintons—and it was total.”

Yes and Ronald Reagan put that pro abortion woman from Arizona on the court.

You just can’t tell from one appointment.

He worked for the American people, among other positions, as Speaker of the House.

No, Newt needs to be right there with him dealing with Congress, not flying around the world. That is his strength.

Exactly!..Chief of Staff. He knows the in’s and out’s of the Congress. and how to deal with those weasels..He’s an Alpha Male, like Trump..what a team that would be.

Yup. Glad to see somebody gets it.

The most powerful position to the President is Chief of Staff. Trump needs Gringrich's knowledge and experience in navigating the legislation twists and turns.

As former Speaker, he knows how the game is played. Very few people in DC have the skills as deep and wide as Gingrich.

YEs, Chief of Staff. There were big debates about this months ago. The winning arguments were for that job, IMHO.

There are a LOT of FReepers who used to hammer on Gingrich for that PSA he did with Nancy Pelosi. Newt is a solid conservative, not flawless, but solid. Those FReepers owe him an apology.>>> no it was a stupid ad about global warming i believe.

Yeah, let's focus on the Gingrich / Pelosi couch photo.

The country is in deep sh!t, and that's the best some FReepers can offer? Pathetic.

Got 20 minutes? Take a look at Gingrich in action.

Newt also allowed passage of that draconian gun control law that stripped people of their gun rights for certain misdemeanors . It was so bad , they had to re-write the law to exempt LEO’s and Military . Newt wants to oversee a massive revamp of the bureaucracies ...I’m ok with that ,but nothing else regarding him .

He should’ve been the VP. In fact I’m (pleasantly) surprised that Trump’s campaign recovered from that error. Mostly because Gingrich started working with him anyway.

“I said I want to be the senior planner for the entire government”.

Newt repeated that on the Hannity show the other night. He wants to be able to help Trump implement his policies. Secretary of State is not what he is looking at or any other cabinet position. It is overhauling the government. Newt thinks big.

No apologies. As late as Febuary Gingrich said Trump would never be president. There was an article posted on here about it.

Newt however did see the writing on the wall and finally got on board.

Newt is sharp no doubt but he is not always been unwavering.

The only excuse for the couch episode was to remain relevant. It was a political calculation, he lost some credibility over it. He did it not me.

Newt is a 100% flawfull conservative. Trump would be a fool to pull this Rinosaur out of the tar pit.
