Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hinted Wednesday that he doesnt support the controversial idea of changing Senate rules to kill Democratic filibusters, and instead indicated that this move might be seen as an overreach by Republicans.
When Democrats ran the Senate, they changed the rules to allow for simple majority votes for judicial nominees, but not Supreme Court nominees, which can still be filibustered. But despite speculation that Republicans will take this next step, McConnell indicated some resistance to it when asked.
He said overreaching after an election, generally speaking, is a mistake. And when pressed on McConnells approach to working with Democrats in the new Senate, McConnell said the way the chamber is structured requires some Democratic participation and cooperation.

Right on Cue, selling us out on Day One!!!
If handled correctly there will be no need to nuke the filibuster. Trump is well-positioned to put enormous pressure on all the Democratic Senators who are not from deep-Dem states.
Yep.
Ryan and McConnell have already begun to backstab
the American People.
They must resign from their positions to be replaced
by Patriots who are not traitors.
on another thread, Larry S. has already indicated they are planning how to work around GOPe interference.
Time will tell
Just listened to this hack on Levin. He is already saying term limits are off the table. You don’t decide that, Mitch.
Dems are going to fight every SCOTUS appointment by President Trump (MY GOD, how great those words sound) as unfit, and not part of mainstream America. IIRC, Rush said today when do the losers get to call the shots? Answer, Prior to 01/20/2017.
I want this bastard gone almost as much as I want Obammy gone!!
NOW>..if you want to puke....Imagine that Turtle faced idiots name on a manifest to Pedophile Island...... Bastard needs to go somewhere WAY WAY WAY away from here!!
Look at what I had just written on an earlier thread. :)

ANYTHING Reid used to get Obamacare “through” should be on the table. Otherwise ... DRAIN THE SWAMP!
I can understand that, but McConnell even saying this, thus showing his hand to the lefties, is a slap in the face to Trump and the electorate.
I repeatedly told Kentucky Democrats to destroy that snake. I argued with them for months leading up to the election, but they all couldn't bear the thought of voting for a Democrat.
I pointed out that the only thing worse than a Democrat is a traitor, and that's what McConnell was. I warned them every way I could warn them, but they let that snake get back in.
With the loss of Scalia, McConnell is an idiot.
This is where Cruz and Sessions could be instrumental in propping up the Turtle’s limp backbone.
McConnell worrying that someone will be upset....THAT'S EXACTLY THE TYPE OF COWARDLY BEHAVIOR THAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE JUST REBELLED AGAINST, AND MCCONNELL STILL DOESN'T GET IT.
They chose to use the nuclear option. Fire all *ussified “leaders” and steamroll every piece of reversal/override legislation until there is no trace of Obama’s stink left in the country.
It’s not a binding commitment. It’s fine to take a diplomatic approach for the short term, while we see how this plays out.
Kaine said the Democrats would use the nuclear option - http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/303369-kaine-dems-will-use-nuclear-option-if-gop-blocks-supreme-court
Someone needs to take his sorry ass to the woodshed.
“...that he doesnt support the controversial idea of changing Senate rules to kill Democratic filibusters,...”
Then we’ll replace his ass with someone who does.
There’s a New Sheriff in town, Mitch... and he isn’t going to play games with you.
