Look at the county map of Illinois. It is almost a solid Trump Red State except for the Chicago Area. Illinois is a great example of a corrupt city having too much influence over the wholesome hardworking countryside via its idle population numbers.
One time my late husband who was born in Peoria and I were talking about voting games in Daley’s Chicago. He said, I wouldn’t worry about it too much, the Republican voting games downstate pretty much balance it out.
