how about we have all disgruntled illegals move to calif. and we build a wall along the west coast too. they need to apply for a visa to enter the USA.

I hope they secede. Then we can build another wall to keep them out.
I wish they would leave. But they have no claim to any federal land in California since it was paid for by all of the people of the U.S.

As soon as California secedes, it will be broken up into at least 4 new states which will join the federal union. Then many of the counties close to the newly seceded state such as those close to Los Angeles, San Francisco, maybe San Jose, and maybe San Diego will join the new non - California states, and that will leave about 10 million In the newly seceded former State of California(i.e. LA,SF,SD,SJ,) and there will be lots of coast that will go with the new non-California states...Let new California grow their own food, and get their own water, and generate their own power... Enforce strict borders on them, and watch them infight, have their own internal civil “war” and finally wither and die.
Too many Mexicans and bums and welfare cheats.. Need federal money.
So it's more Democrat than Massachusetts or Rhode Island or New York or Maryland or Connecticut.
Quite a change from the Nixon or Reagan years.
Vermont would have been even more Democrat but for all the Bernie Sanders write-in votes (something that the media really didn't cover, did they?).
Still, secession isn't likely.
