She remembers how Mitt Romney was relentlessly mocked when he had a huge victory fireworks celebration ready to go on election night and then choked. If she is going to lose she would rather not be a laughing stock as well.

By the way, I think Janet Reno's death only one day before the election was a bad omen for Hillary (not that I really believe in that sort of thing) but you have to admit the death of the women who was the public face of much of the Clinton years corruption only one day before the election is strange optics at best.

A fireworks display on election night makes no sense unless you're on the west coast. It would have been ridiculous to have this event scheduled for 9:30 PM Eastern Time when the polls are still open in many states.

If nothing else, this tells me that the Clinton campaign originally thought they'd effectively be declared the winners early in the evening, but aren't so confident about that anymore. I suspect Pennsylvania and Michigan are now making them very, very nervous.
