Obama came to downtown Grand Rapids in 2008, where at least his base could get there by foot or bus.
Allendale is located halfway to lake Michigan, in the middle of a rural (redneck) area, and impossible to get to without a car.
And GVSU is a relatively conservative school (I attended there), and half of the buildings are named after the conservatives that donated money to the school!
Poor choice.

I saw it move on the right side of the screen, now I think it’s in the middle of the screen. Others saying it’s the press plane.
Pretty much all the above. Blue Cross, the #1 health insurer in MN, quit the state and premiums are up 70% for the rest. The MNSure website still doesn't work. The turning of Cedar/Riverside into Little Mogadishu is also a sore point but nobody is willing to say so out loud because it is non-PC. Upstate in the Iron Range the economy is still terrible and they feel like they are being ignored.
