You were in my home town then. I still do all my shopping there since there’s nothing here in this tiny town.
Nice countryside to drive through between Crossville and this area. When I lived in Raleigh and would come home to visit, that’s how I did it. Once in a while, I go on to Cookeville and come down from there.

That was it. I recall coming off the Plateau and that west look.
Got caught up behind every school bus within 50 miles. :^)

It’s either school buses or slow-moving farmers to get caught behind along that route. LOL!
Was that way from Cookeville, too, but now that highway is 4-lane all the way. A much easier drive.

I was in no hurry. My roots were not to far. It was a new area to me as I never ventured through that part.
It was much the same as I expected.
My beginning is AK but my discipline is East TN.

It’s good you weren’t in a hurry because that’s a route not to be in a hurry on. But it’s a nice enough one to mosey on and check out the scenery.
From AK to TN? That’s a long move.
East TN is beautiful because it’s all mountains. They’re really pretty in the fall with all the colors but I enjoy them most in the spring when the dogwoods and redbuds are blooming. I’d try to time my visits for spring because it was such a refreshing drive.
