The NeverTrump movement is facing a nightmare scenario
Washington Post ^ | November 4, 2016 | Aaron Blake

Posted on 11/04/2016 12:58:10 PM PDT by C19fan

They assured each other he had no real shot of winning the presidency. They said he would be an embarrassment to the Republican Party and drag down the rest of the party with him, both in 2016 and for years to come.

To be sure, many arguments of the so-called “NeverTrump” movement in the Republican Party were based on mere principle. But some were more political pleas — that he was bad for the party, electorally speaking, and that Trump-inspired doom lay ahead.

It hasn't happened — at least, it hadn't as of the race's final week. Trump appears to be within shouting distance of winning the presidency, and the Republican base is as united in voting for him (87 percent of them are behind him) as Democrats are in voting for Hillary Clinton (also 87 percent), according to Friday's Washington Post-ABC News tracking poll.

In other words: It looks like the NeverTrumpers are leading a movement without a real base. And no matter what happens on Tuesday, they'll have a mess to clean up.

Chelsea is renowned at the Clinton Foundation for screeching at employees. She also drove a Teneo (sic?) employee to near suicide which was detailed in a wikileak. Do your homework.

ALL “neverTrumpers” need to be forced into retirement, either this time or next election. They are self-aggrandizing, preening losers. They need purged because they are DIMlite idiots. Their mere presence in to Repub party as we move forward is a trojan horse.

Trump is simply not classy enough for them. His vocabulary isn’t on the par with Michael Medved’s; his clothes are so déclassé; his wife is so much more beautiful than their own hags and his hotels have those disgusting gold fixtures instead of English-style shabby chic which is so disarming...

It’s basically Ronald Reagan all over again.

It should be part of the party rules that anyone that takes an active stand against the nominated candidate will not receive any assistance from National party.

It’s not a Klingon proverb. It’s a saying that was current in France as far back as 1850.

Dude...

I know those things, so your nasty note was a waste of your time.

Hillary Clinton has developed connections it will take her daughter decades to emulate.

As bad as I think her daughter would be, I don’t believe her to be the craven beneficiary of black ops squads.

Guys like George P. shove the knife in your back. They undo more good than they help implement.

I won’t be voting for another Bush in my lifetime.

I wouldn’t vote for Chelsea either, but at least with her you know what you get.

With him you’ll never know what back room deals he’s involved in.

That is very true, on a number of counts.

I went too far over the top there, and I apologize.

I read your post and took it for more than what it was. I am sorry I did.

I’m having lunch with a friend tomorrow——we do it every Saturday.

She’s a hardcore Republican and always says that she doesn’t know what to do -—she doesn’t like Trump.

I always say to her,”No problem, just vote for Hillary”

She says she would NEVER vote for a Dem,especially Hillary.

I just tell her she answered her own question——it’s Trump or Hillary.

.

That’s ok but, really, investigate Chelsea Clinton who is renowned at the Foundation for being a horror. Today, a Podesta email came out calling her “dumb” - which I always suspected. She needs to be squashed like a bug. Please, do your best to squash George P. like a bug. NYers and Texans have a vested interest in getting rid of both of them.

Either way they are on the side of 10s of millions of Democrats, communists, socialists and other anti-Americans. Seems like a pretty big base to me.

Maybe. But the Dems despise them as much as we do.

They choose ... poorly.

I'm one of those you call "filthy unwashed peasants out in fly over land", Trump was not my first choice. But he won. End of story. So on Oct 19th I voted for the USA and Trump.

Because the Witch is 1000% WORSE THAN OBAMA!

THE USA AND THE CONSTITUTION COME FIRST TO ME! I held my nose and voted Romney though I loathed the RINO.

No offense to your friend, because honestly I see folks doing this same soul searching.

Isn’t this a decision a child could make? How hard is it? Trump, not a crook, has a very good platform, one we have only dreamed of for my entire lifetime.

It goes farther than Reagan’s, and I have about as much respect for Reagan as any person could.

Reagan’s whole platform is in there. Trump’s wall, evicting illegals (at least some of them), his leaning toward defunding Planned Parenthood, even more focus on deficit spending...

If folks could love Reagan, I don’t understand this idiotic obsession with hating Trump. Folks, grow the H up!

Thank Mears...

You are so right. That’s all it really boils down to isn’t it.

You are of course correct. I will say this though. Part of the eMails addressed her desire to get to the bottom of irregularities at the Clinton Global Initiative.

She wasn’t privy to the chicanery going on there. One of the ‘grownups’ was talking to another about this. He was urging the other person to help him come up with a way to divert her, so she wouldn’t nose around so much.

She may be an idiot, and I don’t really care. The truth is though, she is not an insider on the criminal parts of this. She is a young woman that they probably exploit to help raise funds.

If she doesn’t realize what her folks are, and lets face it, it would be hard for any kid to admit these two people are what they are, in a way I feel sorry for her.

Her two parents are likely going to prison, and if she’s not careful (not even knowing she needs to be), she could be going too.

How craven would that be, for her parents to put her in that position?

Your point about her being a nightmare, is a valid on IMO.

I do have to ask what she was angry about. Was it a refusal to tell her what was really going on? I doubt it.

She used to call the five star generals at the White House, “rent a cops”. She said her mom called them that.

What a fine parent her mom was/is.
