They assured each other he had no real shot of winning the presidency. They said he would be an embarrassment to the Republican Party and drag down the rest of the party with him, both in 2016 and for years to come.
To be sure, many arguments of the so-called NeverTrump movement in the Republican Party were based on mere principle. But some were more political pleas that he was bad for the party, electorally speaking, and that Trump-inspired doom lay ahead.
It hasn't happened at least, it hadn't as of the race's final week. Trump appears to be within shouting distance of winning the presidency, and the Republican base is as united in voting for him (87 percent of them are behind him) as Democrats are in voting for Hillary Clinton (also 87 percent), according to Friday's Washington Post-ABC News tracking poll.
In other words: It looks like the NeverTrumpers are leading a movement without a real base. And no matter what happens on Tuesday, they'll have a mess to clean up.

It’s a bowel movement.
I was actually basing my hypothesis on archeological data, not the shows put out as disinformation by the aliens. (do I need the just kidding tag?)
“Isnt this a decision a child could make? How hard is it? “

I hate to say this about a friend-——but you nailed it.
(Sigh!) {She never even heard of Jim Jones and The People’s Temple disaster.}
She devotes much time to her church, the VA,and her community, though. Much more than I do.

Political Discernment is not a virtue of Liberals.
In fact, the very thought of truth sends them to their own self-hatred.
Dude...
How many FReepers think the saying actually came from a fictional race from a television show set hundreds of years into the future?
Let's please leave it at that.
Ok, then she’s a good person who shouldn’t be voting.
I don’t say that to be snarky or mean, but in real world terms, she’s not informed enough to select a person.
People like her are why I object to the idea everyone should vote. No, not everyone should.
I say this realizing she’s a good quality person, but she’s not tuned in to the issues you need to know about, to vote smartly.
Too bad really.
Astute summary.
The Revolution is ON!
Vote Trump!
How so? There are very few #NeverTrumpers on FR, or anywhere else, for that matter.
They consist almost entirely of butthurt GOPe globalists such as Mitt Romney, George Will, William Kristol, John Kasich, Jeb Bush, Lindsay Graham, and their ilk.
Regardless of the election outcome, their power is rapidly waning. If Trump loses, it won't be because of the miniscule #NeverTrump contingent, it'll be because of the massive Establishment & Media (but I repeat myself) who would be energetically working against any Republican candidate.
I remain convinced that there's no other GOP candidate who could come anywhere near defeating Hillary— with the entire scummy Global Elite propping her up.
The Revolution is ON!
Vote Trump!

“but shes not tuned in to the issues you need to know about, to vote smartly.”
It’s true——and I lose patience sometimes but then have to pull back, act like a grown up,and look at the big picture.
