The FBI obtained a warrant to search emails related to the Hillary Clinton private server probe that were discovered on ex-congressman Anthony Weiner's laptop, law enforcement officials confirmed Sunday.
The warrant came two days after FBI director James Comey revealed the existence of the emails, which law-enforcement sources said were linked to Weiner's estranged wife, top Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
The FBI already had a warrant to search Weiner's laptop, but that only applied to evidence of his allegedly illicit communications with an underage girl.

Nope. This is a big big deal, actually. It's a bit complicated, but there is a statute called the enhanced whistle blower protection act. And the DOJ lawyers are the one's who would understand the intricacies better than anyone because they are the ones who normally have to investigate, defend and/or enforce the statute.

He is the typical DC Lawyer bureaucrat cake eater that keeps his head down and avoids any and all personal risks. That’s how he got to where he is now.
I think he is politically clueless.
He wrote the letter to Congress while under internal pressure and Congressional pressure to be transparent and above board in order to protect his career and the integrity of the FBI.
Once again, consider the very real possibility that Comey is politically clueless.
I say this because I personally know Lawyers and Government bureaucrats that conduct themselves exactly like this. They are single-minded and obsessive creatures of routines and structure. Comey fits this profile.
Personally, I don’t think Comey has anything concrete on Hillary. He may find something and has a good reason to look, but I don’t think he has it now.
BTW, these personality types can be easily influenced by a single person that will have them rejecting virtually all other information presented by those “outside” of their “trusted” circle. And once their mind has been set on this path there is very little that will change their perspective.
Our entire Government has been built on these simple/single minded cake-eaters.
The fact remains, despite the delusion of those who insist that this will not change anyone's vote, is that this is doing horrific damage to Clinton. She could drop 10-15 points easily as those who finally had enough walk away from supporting her, and those people do exist. This is it for him and he better knock it out of the park.
not difficult to get a warrant on a Sunday. there is always a duty magistrate or judge available 24/7/365.
Right but if they are slow walking it there certainly would be no urgency to “do business” on a Sunday.
This is something that has been rolling around in the back of my mind since this broke. Submitted for your approval or disapproval. If this goes as big as it possibly can, does anyone think that the Clinton’s will spend one day in prison. I can only imagine the plea bargain they are going to come up with. They seem to have the goods on everyone in D.C. What happens if they start singing in an attempt to cover their ass and stay out of jail. The others will start singing, and so on and so on. Chaos in DC could ensue. Not that that might not be a bad thing.

Ok here is another piece of wood onto the fire...Comey’s brother is the accountant for the Clinton foundation....what if he cut a deal that involves the foundation’s illegal funding?
I wasn’t talking about classified documents. I was talking about him allegedly sexting a 15 year old.
That is professional suicide for Comey and will destroy the FBI. Not a chance. He has something of historical magnitude, he knows that already. He has to have that or he is in tremendous jeopardy himself. He couldn’t take this step without knowing he can deliver.
The bigger reality is that America at this moment in in a real Constitutional Crisis. How Comey, the FBI, Congress and the American people handle and comport themselves in the coming weeks and months will determine the future of our Sacred Republic.
This really is at a tipping point.

No, he isn’t looking at years in federal prison. Why don’t you look up some cases. Maybe go to pervetedjustice.com and read about what some of the worst of the worst chatters got. Little to nothing.
Number#2 or 3 on the list got charges reduced to reckless endangerement of a child and the chat was disgusting. Did no prison time.
Even if he had met her some where, and had no sexual contact he might get a year. If he has previous felonies.

I’ve followed a few of these cases in the news. Anything involving a minor gets the hammer dropped. And no parole in fed prison system. He’s looking at several years in Club Fed. Minimum.
Reminds us of the Judge Roberts letdown, huh.
I would rather he go into the state system. The president can't pardon him, and the accommodations are probably much harsher.
