It may be that 'Tony' wanted to use Huma's laptop because he knew it was a 'government' one that had good security so he thought he couldn't get caught.
Either that or he just wanted something with a bigger screen than his smartphone.
I believe Anthony was on a cell phone, snapping pictures of himself and sexting the girl with his son in the bed next to him, I assume sleeping. I also do not know which device of hers the emails were on. It could have even been her phone. I am really under the impression that Weiner can think of nothing else other than sex.
