Spousal privilege is one extreme . . . try the other extreme — Weiner facing a 15 year minimum sentence for sexual exploitation and he has just one card to play in trying to cut a deal.

I'm not a lawyer, but spousal privilege probably isn't relevant if law enforcement officials got mounds of information about one spouse through methods that have nothing to do with the testimony of the other spouse.
In other words, Huma Abedin can't use "spousal privilege" to suppress evidence from Anthony Weiner's iPhone if the FBI already has the iPhone and/or its contents in hand.
