So I’m thinking Huma’s not hiding out, she’s gone. If it’s something to do with espionage, she’s not going to hang around.
In the past nine months I’ve heard more news stories about Julius & Ethel Rosenberg than the past nine years or more...guilty, innocent, set up, etc.
Let me adjust my tin foil hat here..So what if the interest in educating/reminding the public about the Rosenbergs has been getting the spy couple thing in the ether, Next, Huma and Weiner are the new Rosenbergs, and poor Hillary is their victim.

That depends on the meaning of "can."
By the time SCOTUS gets done with the case, capital punishment of political figures will be found to be unconstitutional "cruel and unusual" punishment. So in that meaning of "can," the answer will be "no."
To me, that still doesn't explain why Comey went public before completing the investigation, etc. - unless the goal was to warn Huma and other to flee the country while they had a chance - flush them out, if you will.
But my bias is that Comey is crooked. Making a public announcemnt has no principled reason, despite Comey's protestation otherwise.

It's all noise. Confusion and chaos, maybe intended to depress voter turnout all around. It will flat out not work on Trump supporters. They are going to turn out. We are pissed, and now we have a way to release that in a meaningful way. Completely unlike the usual sham elections, where "why vote?" is more widespread.
