If you look at the upper right-hand side of the pic that is a collage of 6 news pics, you will see that the Republican states on the USA map are blue, and the two Dem states are red. It was until 2000, that the networks changed the map colors so that the Dems are no longer depicted as being red (like commies).

Unfortunately the colors of the 2000 race are stuck. The unwritten rule was red was the incumbent party and blue the challenger. If that was being followed the dims would be commie red and the pubs blue this year but don’t hold your breath.

I remember the evening vividly and the journalists mentioned....from Jennings to Chancellor...were all utterly shocked. The thing is...you can look back now and study how they acted...they were all in a bubble and unable to think or view facts.

You see the same sort of bubble existing today. Except now....there are all kinds of politicians, actors, and half-wits who also live in the bubble. I think some people will be dazed for weeks, and probably end up in some mental health clinic.

What are rhe purpose of polls? As far as I can tell, the only ones that are truly swayed by polls are the investors (campaign contributors?) THe RNC has refused to back Trump, so polls are wasred on their investors. Hillary is still going to garner 95% of the Liberal/Democratic investors, so Polls are wasted on them. All of the Pollsters track records are worse than a small town weatherman’s forecast. The Media, as far as I can tell, are the only ones that benefit from polls. The Media is no longer a valid source for news, but a confirmation of propaganda. THe Pollsters have less than a 20% success rate in predictions. In the major leagues, a ballplayer will be sent down if he is batting less than .200. It is time to send the Media down to the minor leagues, where they belong. I suggest that we tell all of the media to go to hell and quit watching them. When you go into that booth, vote for the person that you choose with conviction, and tell the ‘experts’ to go to hell.

Might disagree on Maine. Southern Maine is more like Massachusetts, because, well, everyone is from Boston. Not too many natives left down there.

Northern Maine, however, is more like Texas. Only colder, and with different accents.

Northern Mainers don't care much for folks "From Away". They can just leave their money up there in the summah, then go home.

And you’re 100% correct on the fact that Hillary! is a plague. Apt description, sez me.

1980 election night is on youtube

https://youtu.be/OMuWVsPQbwM?t=10264

The best part is Farter’s concession speech, “I promised you 4 years ago that I would never lie to you (hold for lols) so I can’t stand here tonight and say it doesn’t hurt”.

We drink your tears, Jimmuh.

That's right. According to the Democrats/MSM, RR still did not have a mandate! The biggest electorial shellacking in anyone's memory, but it still didn't mean he got his way on anything without a fight.

And eight years later, when Slickster "won" with his, what was it, 46%, all the talk in the media was of the people's "new political will".

Yeah, got it.
