The Biblical prophecies of particular relevance are in Ezekiel 38, in the Old Testament, with complimentary description from Revelation, in the New Testament. The target of these bad actors, stated to include Russia (Magog), Iran, Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia ... eventually China and others. The "hook in the jaw" could well be the recently discovered energy reserves. As the prophetic words state, before this final alignment, including Turkey, with Putin (Gog, leader of Magog) meeting Erdogan last week, sometime near the beginning of what Scriptures call "the last days", history shall observe an accompanying series of events ...

Many believers remain concerned and anxious this "land of unwalled villages" is indeed the USA and is also referred to as "mystery Babylon" in the NT

Neither was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, on 28 June 1914 enough to trigger war throughout the world and cause 38 million casualties, not to mention those of the war that followed.
