Does anyone know how Newt’s Contract with America was treated by the media? They criticized Trump’s speech, and I’m just wondering if it was the same then.
All I know is that Bill Clinton signed most of the items in Gingrich’s “Contract with America” into law — despite all the revisionist history (including Clinton’s own) about Clinton standing up to the Republicans in the 1990s.
IIRC, Time magazine ran a cover story on it with the line “Contract ON America”.
The press played Democrat video clips of them calling it Newt's contract on America. Luckily Newt delivered on most of the Contract and the country was better for it.
“Does anyone know how Newts Contract with America was treated by the media?”
From what I remember, some minor criticism but back them it was more presentation of what the Conservative said and praise for everything the rats said. Skewed a bit but waaaayy less then now’s full out assault on descent of any criticism of the “Ruling Elite”.
The scariest thing Shrill has said to date (to her donor’s) is she would stop descent on the net..... And you know talk radio is soon to follow.
