Donald Trump expanded his lead over Hillary Clinton in a four-way race to two points, 42%-40%, in day 4 of the IBD/TIPP presidential tracking poll, with Trump moving past his Democratic rival in a head-to-head match-up for the first time.....
Meanwhile, in a 2-way race, Trump leads Clinton by a half-point -- 42.2% to 41.7%. Previously, Clinton had led by two or three points in a 2-way race vs. Trump.

LOL - Thank you! Been sharing this one :)
I am so sick of polls. Fox has Trump losing in almost every state as they were showing state by state what the poll numbers are. Needless to say, I turned Fox off rather quickly.
Eh, both Carter and Reagan had positive favorability ratings. Clinton and Trump are both very high. I know quite a few people voting Johnson this year in roughly even numbers from Rs and Ds based on registration/2012 vote. Now if wikileaks or Project Veritas drops a monster bomb a week before the vote (or something against Trump), you are probably right but otherwise I think 3rd party will get a lot more votes this time than normal.
“Judge Jeanine on Saturday night is another good one on Fox. Other than her and Hannity I watch Fox Business, especially Lou Dobbs, my favorite.”
I forgot about her. You’re right, she’s good and I would watch her as well. Thanks for reminding me.
I am fascinated by the fact that, once again, married women favor Trump (or tied) while single women favor The Corruption.
The married-women category includes Blacks, Latinos, white suburban soccer moms, even married millennials etc. Presumably, not too many LGBTQs or man-hating feminists however.
FULL DISCLOSURE: My wife is a married woman, a certified SUV-driving soccer mom now switched to a small car with amazing gas mileage . . . and favors Trump. ;-)
Sample size of 1 (one) -- I don't "approve" of Trump and I self-identify as a "small-L" libertarian. But I'm sure not going to throw my vote away on Johnson against Hillary.
We'll see, "in the fullness of time".
Fox News yesterday, all day, said Trump is finished. Whoraldo Rivera said it would the biggest upset in American presidential history, bigger than Truman over Dewey. Program over program they all weighed in. Hillary Clinton is the next president. Then Lou Dobbs and set em all straight. This election is not over by a long-shot!!
They are saying what they are told to say, or in Whorealdo’s case want to be the truth.
We tend to forget these are “ employees” not our friends, and there are only a few on Fox that will dare to speak the truth.
The Donald cut Fox a break at the Al Smith dinner by not including them in the Hillary “ campaign quip re the MSM”.
He plays at a level so beyond all of them it takes time for them to realize it....
Gettysburg address today is another example
Go Donald.... On to Victory.
First time in a long time I’m proud of a candidate... Alleged Warts and All....
It wouldn’t be breaking records if you include independents like Perot and Anderson
Probably because they are paying for the poll that they are touting. Would a Cadillac ad ever mention a Lexus -- and say it is a better car?
(Most polls -- even the bad ones -- show more intensity on the Republican side. If this tells core Democrat voters that Hillary is a shoo-in so they can open a beer and stay home, that's fine with me. Hillary has trouble drawing flies to her rallies, so I believe the voter intensity results.)
Fox hates trump and is part of the GOPe. I don’t watch it and haven’t in nearly 8 years.
Margin of fraud indicates trouble for Trump and us. Need ten points!
Serious question. Why does Fox News never show polls like this? I was just watching Neil Cavuto and he showed a poll that had Trump down by something like 6 points. And then he and his guests proceeded to talk like that poll was the gospel. What the heck? I know they’re rather anti-Trump over there at Fox, but not even Cavuto can show one of the many favorable Trump polls? Why?
Because Cavuto is a jackass and has been for years. Gave up on his posturing blowhard a long time ago. His interviews are all about him. He rarely lets the person being interviewed answer if he doesn’t like the answer. Maggot Kelly in a suit.
Just remember, rime waits for no one.
That's good.
Anderson was running as a Republican in the 1980 primaries. Comparable candidates might be a Jeb! or Ben Carson running as an independent. Perot was well known from his work with the Vietnam War POW/MIA issue. He said he would run as an independent IF his supporters could get his name on the ballot in all fifty states. Which they eventually did. In effect, there was enough unhappiness with Bush 41 and Clinton 42 that Perot was drafted.
Two weeks before the election, I still don't think that most of the American public would identify Gary Johnson as a presidential candidate. Trump, OTOH? I don't know if the comparison has been made that Donald Trump is the Ross Perot who managed to hijack the Republican Party, so I'll make it.
I don't doubt that the Greens + Libertarians may well "break all records" this year. I think we disagree on the margin and the distribution of Johnson and Stein identifiers who vote for Trump, Clinton or stay home.
We'll all see, "in the fullness of time".
There are also the 20% who say they support third party, some of whom actually support Trump but are afraid to say so.
Even IBD is playing games. Look at the poll internals.
Democrats had 7 million fewer Primary voters than 2008, yet Pollsters are sampling higher 2016 turnout.
IBD had to reweight their poll from R+2 to D+8 just to give Trump a 2 point win.
Trump leads the party vote by 7 and Indies by 16.
Oversample Dems by 8, and it looks close.
