TWA 800 was 1996, just before Atlanta Olympics. Also an election year. If Toon hadn’t thought it was terrorist caused (or maybe an embarrassing naval accident) the NTSB would have investigated, as usual, and neither Kallstrom nor Jamie Gorelick would have been involved.
When I saw him on TV recently it looked like tears were about to flow. He knows what he did was wrong with regards to Flight 800 but he still will not come forward and confess. What could he be afraid of? His pension? Prison?

Just saw this morning that some of the Senate RINOs want to approve Obama’s SCOTUS pick in December, after the election. Once again, it makes no sense. Why would they want to do that?

Both. He's FBI, he knows the real polls. When Trump wins he'll be exposed as the traitor and Clinton enabler he is. So he's probably trying to cut a Trump support deal now. When bureaucrats are afraid it's always only for their own asses. But they always wrap themselves in the flag to do it. They'll send thousands or even millions of Americans to death camps as part of their "jobs" and never lose a wink of sleep. But they'll call out SWAT teams if they're even threatened by a hangnail.
