You know, there’s a dynamic that isn’t exactly the same, but it does come to mind.
I have been around women my whole life who trashed men. I’ve also been around other women who didn’t, so this isn’t universal.
I’ve seen women trash men in front of their own teen-age sons. And when they’ve done it, I always wonder what that kid must be thinking, knowing in a few years he will be a grown man.
It’s strange what some women sign onto in their beliefs, that will impact their own kids.

You are right, it is strange.
And trashing men in front of your teenage son borders on being emotionally abusive, IMO. The boy is thinking, “I’ll be a man soon, my mom thinks men are bad, so I must be bad.” Who knows? Maybe he thinks, “so what” and turns to drugs or whatever.
Same thing as talking bad about your ex in front of your kids after a divorce. It is just wrong. It really puts the children in a bad place.
