I had a meeting with Mario Diaz Balart today who tells me the re whipping is not going well in terms of votes. He says that they really have been hurt by the Cantor loss. He still has some additional votes to review. He Is interested in proceeding.

The "inside baseball" vote is about the Gang of 8 bill and getting the House to take it up and approve it. Balart is an amnesty supporter. The defeat of Cantor by Dave Brat in the primary effectively killed off CIR. Ruddy is a tool of open borders and amnesty. He holds the Chamber of Commerce position along with the GOPe.
