As far as her age, I don’t give her a pass.
It might be my personal experience.
I got my first ticket driving a load of grain to the mill at 13.
I had to quit school and work the farm full time when I was 15.
And life just got harder from there.
It’s my view that by the time you’re 20 you should be smart enough to sniff out a snake oil salesman before he sells you a bill of goods.
