Surveying the ratings landscape for Monday Night Football and the NFL this season, you wouldnt be blamed for mistaking it for the barren wasteland of the Mad Max movies rather than Americas most popular sport.
Back in early September, MNF posted its lowest numbers ever (8.3 rating) for a Week 2 game since ESPN acquired the rights in 2006. Then, going against the first presidential debate late last month, Monday Night Football set an all-time ratings low with barely 8 million total viewers. Now, last nights matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers has scored MNFs lowest Week 5 ratings in ESPN history.
....with primetime ratings falling 14% in the coveted 18-49 demo during football, TV networks have been forced to give away more free commercial time as compensation.

Let them get real jobs.
To hell with the NFL.
And since Americans tend to get more conservative as they age, imagine how many “non coveted” Baby Boomers are tuning out
This one sure has

This is good, but it’s only a start. keep the heat on.
Schedenfraudfe!!! MNF from must see tv of my youth, Generation Xer, to blah.
Let them get real jobs.
Over half the players in the NFL would be working at a minimum wage job if they did not have NFL contracts.
Used to watch all the time, now I never do, and honestly I don’t miss it.
It was a better world when professional athletes had to get jobs in the off-season.
That’s what they get for putting it in the same time slot as Dancing With The Stars!..........................
I removed ESPN from my DirectTV subscription when I realized I rarely tuned in to ESPN
Heck half the NFL Players would be sitting in prison if they weren’t able to play pro football!!
Dead, Jail or Football.
Last time I watched minute by minute a MNF game was way back when it was Montana vs Elway when he was a KC Chief. That was the last time. My dad was with me and after the game, we both fell asleep. That was my last MNF game.
I just signed up for Directv at Costco and opted for the basic package over the next-highest, which was an additional $20 or whatever. The upselling point being that you get ESPN. I’m happy to directly impact the revenue loss for the Sports-PC-Democratic complex.
Monday Night Football was an event back in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and on through the ‘90’s. Great announcers, great teams and players, and exciting games.
Today it’s a Leftist/ESPN-politicized display of lousy play and crap announcers.
Who cares about MNF anymore.
I’m not watching because of the protest. Ironically, however, I might watch the Bills and 49ers this week hoping to see Kaepernick fail.
LOL I tuned out ESPN even before they had that fag Sam on every headline but the the final straw when they had obamatard making his NCAA brackets live on TV...and the Idiot in Chief couldn’t even spell “Syracuse”.
Good not happen to a nicer group.
