I saw the 1982 Yankees game you described on TV way back when, but I can't find it on video on the internet. I'm pretty sure it's on Reggie's "Yankeeography" profile on the YES Network, but they cut out the good part and only show the home run. LOL.

I don't remember if there was a rain delay that game, but it was raining lightly for much of the evening. Reggie's blast hit the facing of the upper deck in right field, and the ball was hit so hard that it bounced back onto the field and Willie Randolph actually retrieved it in shallow right field.

There has always been a rumor floating around out there that Ron Guidry, the NY pitcher that night, served a hanging slider up just so Reggie could hit it out. LOL.

It doesn't show the good part, but they have some interviews with players and reporters who describe what happened. LOL.
