Shows you how out of touch I am! I shared a few beers with a Billy Carter (who I met in an Atlanta Hotel..., introduced by a black co-worker!) My Co-worker did this to prove that NO ONE when confronted from someone they do not know, will react negatively when they are excitedly introducing another stranger to them!
Billy was a genuine "Bubba" who shared many tales about "Jimmie" & Rosalynn at a time when they occupied the Whitehouse. Essentially, he felt his brother would not have a "pot to pee in" were it not for Rosalynn! He viewed his brother as a naive dreamer who Rosalynn steered up the ladder! Incidentally, I also had co-workers who were involved with the Carter Peanut Warehouse who held such views!
Carter was the LAST Dim candidate I voted for! He only got my vote because of the Nixon turmoil and Ford essentially becoming the "Anointed One"!
