In 1972 I was watching the Dem convention. Cub reporter Dan Rather was the floor reporter. He ran back and forth between the network broadcaster booth and Ted Kennedy’s group. He was almost certain Ted would enter the race and have his name put up for nomination. Little Danny kept running back and forth to the point he was breathless. His dream to break the news that Ted would enter the race never came to fruition. Little Danny was so sad, trying to make news happen.

That is similar to what is going on now. Various ‘reporters’ are running back and forth at every rumor. When they don’t have a good rumor to run down, they make one up.
