I could never believe that Primary losers would be so bitter.
I suspect it is more than just primary losers being bitter. Look at the $$ that go into their campaigns from the lobbyists and special interests for their votes on legislation. Look at the cream jobs they get as lobbyists when they decide to leave office (or they lose reelection).
They are scared to have someone that "isn't one of them" in power since lots will be uncovered.
Lots —has— been uncovered already.

Whatever it is, they certainly appear to make decent money by sticking in office. John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi drastically increased their net worth by being in office, and that was according to CBS 60 minutes
