Councilwoman Helen Gym Says This Food Truck Is Racist (Racial McCarthyism)

First-term Philadelphia City Councilwoman-at-Large Helen Gym has a lot to contend with. A broken school system. A ballooning pension crisis. Rampant poverty. And … a racist food truck?

Wheely Wheely Good is a popular University City food truck that serves hot pots, spring rolls, and rice balls to hungry Drexel students and faculty on 33rd Street. --SNIP-- On the day of the event at the Montessori school, Gym tweeted a photo of her daughter holding a sign that read “RACISM SUCKS! AND SO DOES THIS” with an arrow pointing at the truck. Li says that when the event was over, she realized that the sign had been stuck on the back of the truck.

Not only are liberals humor impaired, they are severely logic impaired as well.

IOW, they are just plain no fun at all.

The comments to the article at the link are priceless.

I first lived in Philadelphia in the early 60s. It was still a place reflecting its founding ethos from the time of the America Revolution, with its motto, “City of Brotherly Love.” There were all kinds of peoples there in a patchwork quilt of ethnic neighborhoods, each with their own ethnic restaurants, social clubs, houses of worship and even their own dialects, as well as the “old country” tongues still being spoken. Yet people got along in public places.

It was so friendly; even in a large city (it was much more populous then), people rarely stood in line or lingered in waiting rooms silently—waiting with others was usually the chance for impromptu conversations among total strangers (but all Philadelphians). Such conversations even took place in the many corner restaurants from one table to the next, or the person next to you at the lunch counter or in the subway trains.

I left when the waves of Democrats ruined the place, raised taxes on small businesses sky high, focused all their attention on building skyscrapers and gambling attractions, and drove Christianity out of the City in favor of marxism, athesim, homosexualism and political correctness, erecting walls of victimhood and distrust between people and driving out the “brotherly love” — the City even ditched that famous slogan. The persecution of Philadelphians like Joey Vento by the “human rights” commission and especially of the Liberty Bell Boy Scouts by the City Council just broke my heart.

Helen, you moron, those cartoon characters are all over the place in Japan.

I take it Mz Sensitive has never been in Asia.

Her ethnocentric view point is very racist.

Must NEVER forget the ‘Frito Bandito’

Did this ‘women of color’ (white or pink is a color) take offense to HRC and her ‘Ahm so tahrd’ speech?

Just like these feminists take offense at an OLD White guy calling young women dear, honey, putting hand on shoulder (yes, buffoonish but..) while WJC gets a ‘hummer’ under the desk and it is a laughing matter EXCEPT to the ‘victim’ who gets brutalized by the same women who supposedly have their ‘back’.

The difference is, the Asian owners of that food truck aren’t offended by cartoon renderings of Asian people, or Asian-looking type fonts. They embrace it because they have something positive to offer with that food truck precisely because they’re Asian. They’re not angry, they’re not threatened, they’re not “oppressed,” they’re out there working and producing, offering something that everyone likes and wants. That’s completely alien to Councilwoman Gym, she doesn’t get it and never will. She’ll put them out of business if she can, for being racist against themselves.

Since McCarthy was right, that’s a poor analogy.

I agree McCarthy was right but you will never get the left to agree. That is why I like to flip their rhetoric against them.
