Jacksonville Beach firefighters & EMS are leaving the city once winds reach tropical storm strength, according to the fire marshal.
Removing emergency personnel in an emergency? I’m sorry but that’s just not right. There are storm shelters for this purpose.
The mayor of Jacksonville made it very clear if you don’t evacuate you WILL be on your own. No 1st responders will come to your aid during the actual storm. We live in the Windy Hills area which is not under a evacuation area but we are watching things closely.
