Hurricane Matthew Live Thread II
NOAA/NHC ^ | October 6 2016 | NOAA/NHC

Posted on 10/06/2016 4:10:09 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Hurricane Matthew is big, bad and just downright scary, with iminent and sustained impacts to U.S. mainland. Florida Governor Rick Scott issued a state of emergency for all of Florida and disaster operations are activated. More than 1.5 million Floridians reside in current evacuation zones. Governor Scott has spoken with utilities across the state to ensure utilities are pre-positioned and there are no unmet needs. Multiple coastal hospitals have been evacuated. Meanwhile, feckless President Barack Hussein Obama is personally monitoring the progress of the storm.

Another reason, besides fallen trees, people need to stay put after it passes....every street here had low power lines when this person tried to travel the roads....

Charleston gets water in the streets with every very heavy rain just about. That said, sadly it’s going to be lots of water there with Matthew.

if people heeded Gov Haleys call for evacuation the other day, that will help. But Charleston has a lot of stubborn people and college kids...

Fear of looting is one of the biggest reasons they don’t leave...also if they have animals, which to many they see them as family members and aren’t about ready to leave them to fend for themselves. So they take the risk to hunker down...
