Hurricane Matthew is big, bad and just downright scary, with iminent and sustained impacts to U.S. mainland. Florida Governor Rick Scott issued a state of emergency for all of Florida and disaster operations are activated. More than 1.5 million Floridians reside in current evacuation zones. Governor Scott has spoken with utilities across the state to ensure utilities are pre-positioned and there are no unmet needs. Multiple coastal hospitals have been evacuated. Meanwhile, feckless President Barack Hussein Obama is personally monitoring the progress of the storm.

Looks like a sand shark to me. But what do I know, absolutely nothing! Someone upthread said after the tsunami in Japan dolphins were seen!

Downtown St. Augustine. 3-4ft of water.
Sheesh is right....I just thought it was an interesting photo and moved on....now I’m here trying to answer to people I don’t even know!..and I still think it’s an interesting photo...lololol
I said that because I saw it in a video.........there was a piece of a shed roof or house top floating in the waters in Japan and the dang Dolphin jumped over it. But then a Tusami brings in everything with it I suppose....I watched probably well over 200 of those videos, probably more, I was so intrigued with how that happened.
Dumb on two levels. No basements in Florida, and like most downcasters shows utter ignorance of the fact that water is the big killer in most hurricanes. And where would water end up first? The basement.
A side-by-side with picture of downtown St. Augustine right now.
Surge is the killer. If not dead bodies, with insurance premiums.
OMG how cool, part of the annual bait migration sharks, cuda jacks, and tarpon all chase the bait.
“Am I the only one who cant see most of the photos FReepers are posting? I just get blank white squares with the broken-link image in the top left corner. I wonder if its something about my computer.”

I have the same problem using FireFox browser. No photos appear that begin with this url image address -—
I use NoScript and AdBlock Plus. I think one of these might be causing the problem, but nothing I have tried has fixed it.
If I open the thread using the browser Safari, I can see all of the photos.
It has been frustrating me for months. I don’t even get the “blank white square” which would at least alert me to the fact that someone has posted a photo I am not seeing.
Looks like Matthew will pass by at low tide for Jacksonville (about 6:30 pm) and Savannah - tide tables for there:
7
H 12:41 AM
L 07:42 AM
H 01:07 PM
L 08:22 PM
8
H 01:26 AM
L 08:34 AM
H 01:56 PM
L 09:15 PM
That’s a blessing at least.
Oh I hope so.....not good at all if high tide....
What you need to do is....take an axe into the basement with you when you get low to escape the wind.
Then you can chop a hole into the first floor level when the surge comes up.
Once the winds subside, just keep chopping upward till you see daylight, so the choppers can drop a line down thru to rescue you out of your basement.
Savannah is going to be close.
