Hurricane Matthew is big, bad and just downright scary, with iminent and sustained impacts to U.S. mainland. Florida Governor Rick Scott issued a state of emergency for all of Florida and disaster operations are activated. More than 1.5 million Floridians reside in current evacuation zones. Governor Scott has spoken with utilities across the state to ensure utilities are pre-positioned and there are no unmet needs. Multiple coastal hospitals have been evacuated. Meanwhile, feckless President Barack Hussein Obama is personally monitoring the progress of the storm.

Wow, that's very illustrative. Hope all those people get their power back soon. I know the power companies will be on it as soon as it's safe.
Probably Jacksonville Beach. Local news is reporting flooding & storm surge all the way up to 2nd street.

ABOVE PHOTO A chilling photo on the southern end of Anastasia Island of high rising water on cars and houses.
i FOUND IT AGAIN....IT’S the southern end of Anastasia Island
It’s Rollover Pass all over again.
We are 8 miles inland from Jax Beach. Getting a LOT of rain & some steady 50+ mph wind.

Hard to keep up in some fields if we’re not actively in them. Technology. ..whew...
Eddie Compass...yikes..shades of Katrina!
Still blowing here near Orlando..beautiful out...smells clean. We got upwards of 8 inches where I live.
“Keep cell phones charged.”
Like anyone needs told to do that. I’m starting to see big battery storage chargers,to keep small battery storage chargers, charged up,to charge cellphones while grid not available, now. All hail The Smart Phone. (My old one used 75% of CPU,RAM,and netpipe, for Verizon and Samsung’s pleasure...at MY expense.)
Whoa...north coast taking a beating.
Drudge even saying it now that the media and gov agencies lied about Mathew threat.
DO WATCH FOR THIS SURGING...IT’S NOT OVER YET FROM WHAT THE RADIO THERE SAYS....
Am I the only one who can’t see most of the photos FReepers are posting? I just get blank white squares with the broken-link image in the top left corner. I wonder if it’s something about my computer.
I disagree with him on that one. This is a real hurricane, and I for one would have been toast had it tracked 50 miles or so west of where it did. It was sheer luck that spared the FL southeast coast this time around.
That’s bull crap even if it’s Drudge....baloney is all I have to say.......my family just sent me photos of their fence down and tree down .....and it’s roaring outside......they’re in Jacksonville...
Yo...NN.
Another variable for your strategic dog excursion calculations...
Folks who live on the coastline & near the St John’s River are the ones at risk from storm surge. Those areas are under evacuation orders. We are safe from that thankfully.

Yes, Agustine is in bad shape with the surges etc....
