I agree with you. I think Santorum would have debated much better than Pence did here. It’s really Pence by default. I think Trump did better overall last week than Pence did tonight. Pence seemed on defense the whole night. But Pence didn’t make an overt gaffes.
I appreciated Pence’s calm demeanor and quietness. There’s an old saying that dignity implies reserve strength, or something like that. He seemed like a sincere, thoughtful man in an arena that’s full of shallowness and fakes.
I muted out 80% of Kaine and I thought Pence did great.
I’d like to listen it again with a totally split screen. 1/2 the time Pence, 1/2 the time kaine. Cut out the interruptions (by Kaine).
Santorum a better debator than Pence? Rick is a good man, but no way could he top that performance by Pence.
