More than four decades of an “Us against them” mentality is hard to undo.
Thing is people, just be careful out there. I had a statie pull me over just to ask for a date (after getting all my info.) Scary.
Per the article:
The district attorney refused the councils request to file criminal charges against the officer, saying he wouldnt rehash the same evidence, the Greensboro News & Record reported.
The DA needs to get the Nifong treatment.
Yeah but the cops are of our generation and tactics have changed over the years. I guess stupidity hasn’t.
LE probing to normalize thug activity and condition the public to accept unconstitutional intrusions maybe?
Whatever comes down on the moronic cop’s head is well deserved.
.
There is sufficient evidence there that the NC attorney general should be willing to file charges for aggravated assault, battery, and false arrest against both officers.
They should also be looking at what charges should be filed against the DA too.
.
Brilliant police work! You know how stupid the cops would've looked if simultaneous breakins were going on in both houses and they let both burglars get away?! /s
What generation are you talking about? I’m in my 70s.
Tactics may have changed, but not the mentality.
Disgusting.Simply disgusting.
.
The Bee is a far-left propaganda organ.
I can see why they would consider this story of value to their effort to destroy constitutional governance.
.
“There is no situation so bad it cannot be made worse by the presence of a policeman.”
I'm wondering if we might have a replay of "Skip Gates" here, the only difference being that the guy was an ex con rather than a Harvard professor and buddy of our Community Organizer-In-Chief.
I've only had a couple of interactions with cops in my life, none of which were even close to getting out of hand. But my attitude would be..if a cop is looking at you like a potential lawbreaker and attempts to detain you in any way you *don't* resist or mouth off like that guy did.Instead, including if you think the cop's acting illegally, you follow all commands to the letter and while doing so you let the cop know...very calmly...that you intend to sue his employer and him *personally* for millions.
If you had that on video and audio, you could have caused him a s'load of trouble, maybe his job.
Amen. That was true when I lived in NYC as well as here in rural WV.
My husband watched the whole video. He says that everything was pretty cool until the guy, without the cop’s permission, made a phone call, and said something along the lines of, “hey, can you come over here to my mom’s house? I’m being harassed by the cops.” The cop explained afterward, in the video, that this was considered a threatening act to the cop, because the cop doesn’t know who he called (reinforcements?) and didn’t give him permission to make the call. The guy didn’t put it on speakerphone, as he had when he phoned his mom. Maybe the old adage of three sides to every story applies here?
thanks. sorry. this whole thing stunk so I went searchin for more detail.
This whole thing was unknown until the matter was leaked from the police.
Once this goes\went national, I’m guessing the D.A. will take another look.
I haven’t seen where Dejuan Yourse is going to sue, so I’m guessin he is.
should be interesting. so far, BLM didn’t lite up the place
It would have been "odd" if he had never been to prison or had had a key to the house. But with this guy it could be said that it was down right suspicious.
It is from the Charlotte Observer, another McClatchy newspaper.
First off. unnecessary.
The cop tried to grab the guys phone.
Because he didn’t like what he said about the cop harassing him?
Otherwise, i think the word “violent” to describe the cops reaction may be a tad strong. Overly aggressive is probably a more accurate description.
