The United Nations News Centre the official U.N. news service tweeted, then quickly pulled, a post that called for 8 million Americans abroad to stop Trump.
The tweet, published at 9:14 p.m. ET on Thursday, urged American expats to share a voter registration tool on the website of the activist organization Avaaz that states, U.S. Citizens abroad could defeat Trump
if they voted.
Do they mean assassinate? That’s how I take it.
Fair enough. In 3 months Trump can end the UN.
It’s hard enough for Trump to get his message through the national media to the citizens; imagine the high hurdle to get a message through the domestic and international media to anyone overseas. Nearly impossible to hear an objective, unfiltered message.
Why do they tink that Ex-pats are all demondogs?
My personal experience is that they as likely to be pro Trump as not. Especially since Trump has stated he wants to end the FACTA laws that make getting a job overseas nearly impossible
The problem Ex-pats have is that their vote is diluted by being returned to home states.
and these a&&holes are gonna own the onternet, eh?
I would like the idea of a B52 dropping a few 500 pounders on the fascist UN buillllding and end our misery and them stealing our hard earned money.
FU UN . I already sent mine in.
He should mention in the next debate that he is for the repeal of FACTA, FBAR, and resident based taxation, and he will probably get 99% of the overseas vote.
Sorry, UN, I’m one of those of those expats and have already voted. Too late!
ditto!
Get the un out of the us.
Let em go to the middle east or brussels. Pretty soon same diff.
Couldn't agree more. I live in Taiwan and all of the local news stations get their US news primarily from CNN. When I see something they report on Trump, I am usually yelling at the screen. My wife would ask me why and I will show her the real story ( for example, them editing Hillary calling it a bombing and putting in quotes that Trump said "racial profiling" which he never did. ) She was astonished at the outright lies CNN tells and that the local media is reporting it as truth. She now knows never to believe anything the local media says when it quotes CNN.
Expel him for interfering US internal affairs.
The crooks hate Trump.
Like Trump said, soon the gravy train will be ending for many.
I agree.
Honestly as much as I hate Obama if he had championed this cause I would have voted for him. My non-US Citizen wife and I have to keep our finances completely separate because of US Tax laws.
The UN and Soros saying the same thing coincidence ?
I spend a lot of time overseas and many of the foreigners I meet think that Trump hates “foreigners.” No distinction of immigrants to the US or, what’s more, ILLEGAL immigrants to the US. They have just been told it’s ALL foreigners around the world. There is NO WAY that any media outlet will ever play anything Trump says that doesn’t support their intended narrative, domestic or international. If he doesn’t say something salacious, they’ll just make it up.
Same here. Most US citizens overseas end up not even having to pay taxes because of the deduction. It is the paperwork and regulation. The IRS doesn't keep citizens informed of the new tax laws and if you miss filing a new form that you are not aware of, you are hit with a $10,000 fine and possible 10 year jail term. For example. FBAR filings have always been due by June 30. Last year they slipped a provision in another law that changed the filing date next year from June 30 to April 15. The IRS doesn't inform US citizens of that. So, next year many will - in good faith thinking they are following the law they have always filed- will file around June 30. They will then find out when they get a letter from the IRS that they owe them $10,000 or a possible jail sentence because they didn't file on time.
