The teen accused of shooting two students and a teacher at a South Carolina elementary school on Wednesday reportedly was expelled from middle school last year for showing up with a hatchet.
A family friend of the suspected shooter told WSPA the 14-year-old was being home-schooled after the hatchet incident.
The alleged shooter had no known connection to Townville Elementary, where he was eventually taken into custody. He had been

And, finally, looks like the parents were separated; she is showing an Anderson, S.C. address, not the Townville address of the decedent.
One of the (un)intended consequences of zero tolerance. Had a relative bring his backpack with hunting knife in the trunk of his car because he was going hunting with dad after school. Permanent expulsion. He homeschooled because there were no options. Now he’s an E7 running the power plant on a nuke sub.
I am just wondering why it seems the info is being “protected”. What category is this going to end up in the statistics. We are all sick of this seemingly never ending series of tragedies.
We are all hoping that some day, perhaps someone in authority can figure out there may be a correlation in regard to a number of these tragedies that can be useful in reducing their frequency.
Probably because any teacher who completes the vast amount of paperwork necessary to get the student to the alternate school will get fired by a corrupt principal.
A kid would have to be pretty bad seed to be expelled from a home school. :-0
Did done that, K through high school graduation ceremonies, and not one regret. Except it was done too soon. It’s a calling, not an easy way, but the whole family is glad we did.
Good article here:
South Carolina has quite a few hoops through which legal homeschoolers have to jump.
I have no idea what you are talking about
We are so used to the libtards politicizing these things that as bad as the sense of tragedy is the sense one has in the interval one has between the thing itself and the first libtard to pronounce “what this means”. It inevitably means we need to punish Americans in either some new way or the same old tired “sensible” (idiotic) crap.
NY and PA do as well.
They could have put him in a military academy.

So much for zero tolerance and gun free zones. Liberals never learn. I for one will never let my kids go to a public school. I plan to homeschool them and send them to parochial school.
This whole report is BS. Troubled kids usually either wind up in special schools or military school. Homeschool kids are parents who’ve had it with their kids failing and getting beat up by the future career welfare vermin.
Maine where I am from is the one of the few states (surprisingly) that doesn’t have that problem. I believe that other than New York and Massachusetts, Illinois is the worst for H-Schoolers.
Exactly. He was not homeschooling; he was expelled. Should have been in a Military School or something. Left to the parents when they are already out of control? Not good. Wasn’t that kid who shot up an Elementary School also ‘homeschooled’ bc he was a problem? Mom was part of that problem too.
Mware, thanks. The school is required to find him a place? Good to know.
IMO, PA has NY beat.
I’ve heard what PA requires and while NY regs are a nuisance, I do better with accountability so I didn’t mind them as much.
