I'd buy some extra signs and leave one sign out but coat the backside with a non-drying sticky pest barrier. (Liberals ARE pests IMO!)

I saw something about coating the signs with bird repellent, which is slick, sticky and will never come out of your clothes.
Fish hooks might work well too...

That is EXACTLY what I have going in about 3” along all sides ... and a fake blinking video cam with a surveillance sign alongside of it .... after having signs stolen several times and never finding them ... this time! It's been stolen twice BUT it is so disgusting that they fling it and so I put gloves on and put it back the next AM :) you can't get that pest stuff off of your hands OR your clothes so that makes me very happy just thinking of it :)
