Dear famous person,
If we want to be seen with you, we'll turn our backs on you.
Please don't be offended.
It's just that your fame isn't enough for us anymore.
We need to attach ourselves to your fame, so that we can post the resulting picture to Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat.
That way, we achieve our own sort of mini-fame. Which could be the maximal fame we ever attain.
Please forgive me for this missive to the stars.
There's a reason: this astounding picture posted on Sunday to Twitter by Hillary For America design lead Victor Ng. He credited the shot to the photographer currently working on the Clinton campaign, Barbara Kinney.
As Hillary Clinton stands on a podium and waves, not one of the throng in front of her seems to be facing her.
Instead, everyone has turned their backs and raised their phones in order to get a little of themselves -- perhaps just their hair or their upper forehead -- into the shot.
Ng offered this caption: "2016, ya'll."
One can surely forgive him for misplacing his apostrophe, as he gazed upon this human catastrophe.
Increasingly we prefer to be seen with each other, instead of looking at each other.
We live not to be there, but to be seen to be there.
So, dear famous person, please understand that it's all a show now. All of it.
This might be especially worth remembering should you be taking part in some sort of debate in the near future.
And just where does Scripture address women's involvement in the political process and state that women should not be able to vote?
And does that presume that ALL men will vote for your favorite candidate and none will vote for Hillary?
Maybe you could move to some muslim country if their treatment of women is more to your liking.
Do you want women to be barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen as well?
And veiled to boot?
And accompanied by a male relative when they leave the house?
I haven't heard anything so ignorant as that in a long time although I do realize there's a contingent of males beings on FR who have that same Medieval mindset.
Liposuction Nation
Yeah, but then you can't write something by taking a single photo out of context that condemns "these damn kids today."
Every one of those women is taking that photo because they look like a smoking hot model compared to Hillary Clinton.
From the comments section in the article, a nugget...
Am I the only one that stood up and applauded these brave and intelligent women when I saw this picture? Like Perseus of old these women have figured out that looking directly at the beast and matching it’s gaze can turn one into stone.
Bkmk
No you’re not ; )
>>Future Bitter Single Women of America
It’s actually the Future Bitter Single Mothers of America. Having that baby out of wedlock and then breaking up with the Baby Daddy is an important part of their bitterness.
Most people have a natural tendency towards a narcissistic bent, but until after the WWII generation, most people kept it in check. The boomers sucked. My generation sucked more. And what followed was, was...forget slouching, call it a full sprint towards Gomorrah.
It’s always blame the women.
Like the men are the victims and it’s the bad women’s fault they are beaten down.
And who let themselves be beaten down? Don’t those men have any testosterone floating around in their systems that they can’t take a stand for what they believe in?
Men are victims mentality again.
And it doesn't occur to you that men actually can abandon the families they are responsible for creating?
And do?
They are all taking SELFIES! bfd
Try this.
"Tell me again why we gave women blacks the right to vote?"
How's that sound for comparison?
And what's the excuse for all the men who vote liberal?
It's not only women, you know. where's the blame for all the men who vote liberal?
Man, this thread has brought the FR Women Hater's Club out in force.
A split second before Bush goes full tippy-toe you can see Trump begin an upward movement. Trump knew what Bush would do and he’s obviously enjoying it
Hang in there...things are deteriorating in Syria, and a President Hillary would finish us off. :-)
You say that like it's something to be proud of!
Do you still buy newspapers? Drive a horse and buggy?
Actually, it looks to me like the crowd is attempting to take a pic of something else, perhaps who H is waving to.
Check out the red haired chick w/blue shirt and white pants. She is closer to the foreground.
If she were taking a selfie as theorized, she’d be turned more to her left to capture H to her right. Plus, since H is higher up, the camera would have to be lower and at an angle reflected off the horizontal axis.
If this were a selfie, she’d have a pic of her face and the floor next to H.
