Dear famous person,
If we want to be seen with you, we'll turn our backs on you.
Please don't be offended.
It's just that your fame isn't enough for us anymore.
We need to attach ourselves to your fame, so that we can post the resulting picture to Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat.
That way, we achieve our own sort of mini-fame. Which could be the maximal fame we ever attain.
Please forgive me for this missive to the stars.
There's a reason: this astounding picture posted on Sunday to Twitter by Hillary For America design lead Victor Ng. He credited the shot to the photographer currently working on the Clinton campaign, Barbara Kinney.
As Hillary Clinton stands on a podium and waves, not one of the throng in front of her seems to be facing her.
Instead, everyone has turned their backs and raised their phones in order to get a little of themselves -- perhaps just their hair or their upper forehead -- into the shot.
Ng offered this caption: "2016, ya'll."
One can surely forgive him for misplacing his apostrophe, as he gazed upon this human catastrophe.
Increasingly we prefer to be seen with each other, instead of looking at each other.
We live not to be there, but to be seen to be there.
So, dear famous person, please understand that it's all a show now. All of it.
This might be especially worth remembering should you be taking part in some sort of debate in the near future.
Well; THAT's interesting!
I thought a selfie was like a timer with a zero delay time.
Back in the day, we placed the camera on a tripod, clicked the button and had 10 seconds to run back and get in the picture.
Sounds like a rim-to-rim in the Grand Canyon; only inverted!
(And a bit less oxygen; too!)
It is a form of self gratification, is it not?
>>And the man still bears no responsibility for for that either? It’s all the women’s responsibility?
If two people do something and one of them is going to be harmed much more than the other 100% of the time, then it is just basic intelligence for the person who will be hurt the most to take the most precautions. Are you such a feminist that you can’t understand this basic premise?
>>What a load of Bu!! $#!t.
>>Here’s clearly some news to you. Men can say *No* too.
Yes they can. But they won’t. It is hardwired into their brain as the primary driver in human reproduction. Why do women always assume that men have to give up 40,000 years of instincts so the women can fornicate freely? Is uncontrolled fornication that important to you? It’s so hilarious that modern women rank their “empowerment” as the number of the men who have used them as a sperm receptacle and then moved on.
If they want to put their life in danger!!
...after the woman has already decided upon YES!!!
to have your picture taken?
If one were of the same mind as Anthony Weiner, yes! Don’t fool yourself, there are a good many “Anthony’s” and Toni’s across the fruited plain. Taking a selfie is very inspiring and gratifying to them.
It is because I love women that I want them (and their husbands) to follow scripture. Men need to be the leaders of their families and treat their families with respect. Women, in such a situation, should have no problem submitting to the leadership of their husbands.

And exactly how is that related to women voting? And why would that make you want to discourage women from voting?
There's NOTHING in Scripture that even alludes to women not being capable of participating in politics.
Denying women the vote is as sexist as it comes. Denying them the right to vote because of their gender is as bad as denying people to vote based on skin color.
Do you also wish that blacks could be discouraged from voting but alas, the clock can't be turned back on that either?
And what about single women? You love women so much and want to protect them? From VOTING?
How does keeping them from the vote protect them? What harm is voting going to cause women?
Haven't read Proverbs 31 recently, have you?
Thanks! You’re right. ;-)
Yer right on this!!
