ON THE OCCASION OF THE FIRST DEBATE BETWEEN
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
Donald John Trump
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY, HEMPSTEAD, NY
9 PM MONDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2016
The 90 minute debate will be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on major topics to be selected by the moderator and announced at least one week before the debate. The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic.
Are we on the Democrat site here? I thought Donald talked to the American people and especially the out of work, blacks, Latinos, police, and etc. He was also much more respectful to Chelsea and I certainly can’t say that for Hillary. She said some really hateful things that are only hearsay but his strong remarks were facts. I’m very happy with Trump’s performance because he got to us.
Strangest election ever!
Read a tweet somewhere that said Hillary won the debate but Trump won the show.
Interesting..
Whoa...that nose.
.and seems he’s a little short of air.
“Drop dead”
Nope. I’m going to be around voting for Trump. Sorry to disappoint.
LOL! I certainly hope so. Nice idea!
Here’s what everyone needs to remember ...
Within 48 hours most people have forgotten almost every bit of substance in a presidential debate. The only thing that matters is how the viewers perceive the candidates.
This is why people remember sound bites for decades after a presidential debate. Think of Reagan’s “There you go again!” jibe at Jimmy Carter. Within a week of that debate everyone remembered the line, but nobody remembered what the hell Carter even said that precipitated that response.
Good point and thanks. I think all of us put too much stock in the debates and everything about the election. Trump has exceeded my expectations and he has put together perhaps the best month I have witnessed by any candidate in my lifetime.
It’s just that I am overly armed with negative Hillary facts. Just about every topic I was yelling at the television wishing him to bring up very legitimate stuff.
All in all - he probably did better than I think he did because I wanted him to point out over and over just how scandalous I believe she is.
I think his approach was to let Hillary hit him with all her arrows, then counter them. It seems most of the anti Trump propaganda was used. He effectively countered each one. She has no ammo now for the next debate.
Hillary was the better debater but Trump won the debate. WHY? only two things will be remembered in a week...
Hillary 30 failed years a politician with a smooth lying tongue.
Trump a businessman with common sense, gets results, says it like it is.
Kellyanne up now on Fox News!
One anecdote...ONE, and that of someone in your own home?
Trump didn't lose anyone tonight, but neither did he win over many of the fence sitters.
I am neither a peal clutcher, nor a hand-wringer; never have been either of those. What I am is intelligent, observant, and politically savvy!
No, I made the argument of why professional politicians win people's votes. People hate professional politicians because what they promise never pans out.
That doesn't help Trump any if he looks LESS credible than the professional politician in a side by side match up.
Thank you.
Exactly. He didn’t have to go MMA on her; no need.
He’s winning.
She’s conceded OH and FL, right? She’s done and deep down...she knows it.
I remember Romney cleaned the bamster's clock on the first debate, it wasn't even close. WE all remember Romney's first term......
Hillary did nothing of the sort tonight, she may have regained a little momentum, but if so she will have a hard time doing it twice more.
I wish it were not so, I still think he's going to win, he's a fast learner, and he will do better.
Pretty pathetic. She even had the moderator in her corner and she still couldn't lay a glove on Trump.
This was her chance to blunt Trump's momentum and she didn't get it done.
They look like they're watching one of the Twin Towers fall on 9/11.
In her supporters eyes, she won just by not collapsing. I think Trump did great. Didn’t do anything crazy or make weird faces at her obvious political speeches of crap.
Trump winning big.
“Trump should have been better prepared for that, and ready to lay it back on Clinton’s surrogates. (birther)”
He did, he gave detailed specifics of Hillary releasing the photo of Obama dressed in Moslem garb, and he specifically named the people who she sent to Kenya to search for a BC.
What makes you think she can't use the same things twice?
