If that’s the case then they need to inform the public.
On the scanners last night they had search teams going through the neighborhood across the road where the guy was seen fleeing after the attack. "Searching" may not even be the right term because they were actually responding to 911 calls from people who reported sounds the yard, garage or shed doors opened, etc. They were very nonchalant about it, and didn't even seem to warn people in the neighborhood to lock their doors and shelter in place.
