Stone Mountain is home to the “Southern Rushmore” commemorating Confederate leaders. Relocating so many refugees there may very well be an attempt, after the recent “Confederate purge” and calls to blow up the memorial, to dilute Southern culture.

Why is this surprising?

Liberals aren't going to resettle Muslims in Democratic strongholds. They don't want to live with them. The goal here is to turn red states blue and that means resettling the new Democratic voters they import into conservative areas where after getting comfortable, they can work on reforming the politics, starting with the schools.

The outrage here isn't that Democrats are doing this, it is that conservatives are allowing them to.

To put this in perspective, Stone Mountain is in DeKalb county just west of Gwinnett county, in the heart of the northeast Atlanta metropolitan area. The 2 counties have a population of 1.5 million, with about 20,000 Muslims.

My daughter lived in Tucker for several years, just east of Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Lawrenceville highway. We enjoyed going to Stone Mountain when we would visit her.

There is a history of relocating Muslim “refugees” to this part of metro Atlanta. Between 1991 and 2007, thousands of Somalis were dropped into Clarkston, the metro community immediately west of Stone Mountain. (In suburban Atlanta, town names define their surrounding areas and not just their smaller city limits.) DeKalb County is rapidly devolving into a Third World sh&thole with a deeply corrupt, blacks-only government. Trapped within DeKalb are several affluent enclaves in Dunwoody (still with many white Conservatives), downtown Decatur (the lesbian capital of the Southeast, pronounced “DickHater”), and the menshevik neighborhoods around Emory University. Those areas are consigned to an ever-increasing burden of taxes and crime.
