Glenn Beck on Friday voiced sorrow over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) endorsing Donald Trump for the presidency.
[This is] a profoundly sad day for me, he wrote on Facebook. "Disappointment does not begin to describe.
Maybe it is time to go to the mountains for a while, the conservative commentator added. "Again, disappointment doesnt even begin to describe my feelings.
Beck, who supported Cruz over Trump in the GOPs presidential primary, added he feared for the nations future.
America is an idea, not a country, he said. "When we discuss the destruction of our country, that is vastly different than the destruction of an idea. I fear the idea is already lost, due to the panic of losing ones comfort and country.
The founders meant it much differently when they said: join or die. Welcome to the big tent. GOP / DNC 2016 join or die. Long live the idea of the republic.
Cruz earlier Friday endorsed Trump, a stunning reversal after months spent refusing to back the Republican presidential nominee.
Our country is in crisis, he wrote on Facebook. "Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to be president, and her policies would harm millions of Americans. And Donald Trump is the only thing standing in her way.
A year ago, I pledged to endorse the Republican presidential nominee, and I am honoring that commitment. And if you dont want to see a Hillary Clinton presidency, I encourage you to vote for him.
Cruz refrained from endorsing Trump after their at-times heated GOP presidential primary.
Beck was fiercely critical of Trump during their contest, even suggesting in March no real Christian would back the billionaire.
The radio host predicted in May, however, Trump would ultimately defeat Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee.
Yes Beck, a good long while.
Me, me, me. The chattering class attention ho’s like Beck just never know when to shut up.
Cruz is Creepy....Beck is CERTIFIABLE!!!!!
Just look at the flowers, Glenn.
Beck is a LOON!!!
....wish he would announce he’s voting Hilda and be done with it. He’s like stepping in dog sh*t with rippled soled shoes....ya never really get rid of it
It’s sad to see Glenn spiraling...He was good at telling the history behind our country. I understand his candidate lost but I don’t understand how he can think that anyone could be worse than Illary...
Maybe he will actually drown in his tears.
Glenn who?
I think Beck should jump back on the wagon, and then start going to the gym 5 times a week.
Oh, get off that magic underwear storage diet. Way too carb and salt heavy. Try throwing in some veggies.
The rotundity of sadness too.
A VERY LONG while. Send in your vote for Hillary before you leave.
The sadder Beck gets, the happier I get.
Go Trump!
Yes, Glenn, to the mountains for a minimum of 50 days or so would be great. Longer would be even better.
Always liked ‘Wolverton Mountain,’ good song. :)
