Glenn Beck on Friday voiced sorrow over Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) endorsing Donald Trump for the presidency.
[This is] a profoundly sad day for me, he wrote on Facebook. "Disappointment does not begin to describe.
Maybe it is time to go to the mountains for a while, the conservative commentator added. "Again, disappointment doesnt even begin to describe my feelings.
Beck, who supported Cruz over Trump in the GOPs presidential primary, added he feared for the nations future.
America is an idea, not a country, he said. "When we discuss the destruction of our country, that is vastly different than the destruction of an idea. I fear the idea is already lost, due to the panic of losing ones comfort and country.
The founders meant it much differently when they said: join or die. Welcome to the big tent. GOP / DNC 2016 join or die. Long live the idea of the republic.
Cruz earlier Friday endorsed Trump, a stunning reversal after months spent refusing to back the Republican presidential nominee.
Our country is in crisis, he wrote on Facebook. "Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to be president, and her policies would harm millions of Americans. And Donald Trump is the only thing standing in her way.
A year ago, I pledged to endorse the Republican presidential nominee, and I am honoring that commitment. And if you dont want to see a Hillary Clinton presidency, I encourage you to vote for him.
Cruz refrained from endorsing Trump after their at-times heated GOP presidential primary.
Beck was fiercely critical of Trump during their contest, even suggesting in March no real Christian would back the billionaire.
The radio host predicted in May, however, Trump would ultimately defeat Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee.
I don’t know why Fox let him go but he got nuttier and nuttier as the days wore on.
An odd guy who was losing ratings.
I left,
I came back and now I’m ready
to leave again.
Does that make me bad?
Blessings!
XOXO
“I left,
I came back and now Im ready
to leave again.
Does that make me bad?”
No, just means you’re human.
Burt Reynolds once said he spent the first half of his life trying to get away from home and the second half of his life trying to get back.
You’re in pretty good company.
” Blessings!
XOXO”
Right back at ya!
Beck off his meds with his face in a Cheeto bowl. Now that’s sad.
Glenn: The mountain's just not into you.
I used to be a huge GB supporter.. We listened and to his broadcast, we bought his books. He went totally nuts with his allegiance to Cruz, almost to the point of making Cruz his god. We supported Cruz during the primary, then switched to DJT afterwards.
Everyone I know who is a never trumper is a GB supporter. It’s sad that GB has gone so far as to use his celebrity to promote the election of hiLIARY.
Call me cynical but it looks like Teddy realized he will be on the losing team if he doesn't endorse and thus his Term in Congress would be short and without any cash coming his way.
I have a box of maybe twenty Quadraphonic 8-track tapes (mostly Moody Blues) AND the Quadraphonic player and four huge box speakers, all from the mid-70’s. I wonder if those tapes would still play, or have they turned brittle...
