Did I ever tell you the thing I tease Yankees with when traveling above the MD Line? When going in for dinner I would ask for sweet tea. First they look like you have three heads and then say they have raspberry tea.
So, I did some deductive thinking with as small as the world has gotten and determined that Yankees would never adopt a southern thing because they would have to admit we did something right! :)
Bro, I wouldn’t know what the #### sweet tea is :)
One time I Was driving in the south with too gorgeous gals and the gas station guy said “boy those two girls are sure sweet as pie”. I never EVER heard that in my life but it was a chivalrous and non perverted comment. Refreshing.
Then there’s something about being ridden like a bull and put away wet. DONT WANT to know what that means :)
As for the north, at least in my area, “Forget about it” means everything. They were right in “Donny Brasco”.
It can be good, it can be bad, it can mean you agree with someone, it can mean you disagree with someone, and sometime it just means “forget about it” :)
But I’d choose the south’s patriotism and love of God and guns any day over a city like Manhattan, whose atmosphere and buildings and 24/7 activity (at least when I was younger) i love, but whose politics and feelings about God, Guns and Country i HATE!!
