Cruz supporters alarmed by possible Trump endorsement
Washington Examiner ^ | September 22, 2016 | By DAVID M. DRUCKER

Ted Cruz supporters were alarmed Wednesday at suggestions that he was on the verge of endorsing Donald Trump.

They worry that the Texas senator could squander his brand as a fighter — and goodwill earned among many through his stubborn refusal to back his party's nominee — if he caves with nothing to show for it.

Cruz has held out on the grounds that Trump is insufficiently conservative, and because Trump attacked his wife and father down the stretch of their heated battle for the Republican nomination.

The senator even took the extraordinary step of declining to endorse Trump during a televised, prime time speech delivered from the stage of the New York businessman's own nominating convention.

Sounds like he’s toast in Texas.

Maybe he should run for the House in his own district.

He really should have gone after a judgeship. It’s a shame he self-destructed. He really is a smart guy.

You're from Texas so your opinion matters. Are you not going to vote for Cruz for Senator? Are you still going to support Cornyn with his abysmal voting record?

You didn't need his endorsement to love Trump anyway did you? I'm surprised at how many people on this thread care.

Cruz has been good IMO as a Senator, fantastic actually, again IMO. I think he got a 'big head' over the presidential thing. Will I vote for him for Senate again? Remains to be seen I guess. Cornyn is a POS IMO and I would never and have never voted for him.

I had switched to Trump after he won the nomination, didn't need anyone's endorsement. I like what he says and I believe his heart is in the right place. Sitting out or voting for Hillary is not an option....

Some truth to that, alright.🐸 The "rubes", however, seemed to believe busTED was as good on paper, as he was at the snake oil pitching. They thought Ted was as good as he told them he was. In a nut shell, Cruz has yet to be really and actually vetted.

i was a cruz fanatic. thought i’d get the boot at one point cause i was a fanatic way after he showed himself to be an a@@hole. d

The NY comment strated the slide, as i’m a NYer, and no matter what your states ills, you dont like to be insulted.

Then the petty cheating at every chance. THEN not endorsing our guy!!!

I think too much is made of his supporting trump. If it brings one more vote our way, that would be great. But a mass change in his insane supporters? doubtful

“Something really bad happened when Cruz supporters became Cruzers, it somehow made them all a bit insane.”

False gods and false prophecies are like that. They draw wild eyed losers like dung draws flies.
