Unless someone is tied up and shot up against their will, heroin is a CHOICE. Cry me a freakin’ river!
In the work I do, I am aware of stories that are much worse than this. One 19 year old passed out on a park bench in January when the temperature was about 30 degrees and she had her one year old baby with her. Luckily the police found them but she was not put in jail. Just probation and the child was put in the custody of the grandmother, who was almost as bad as the daughter/ mother. In another case, a mother OD’d and her 12 year old son tried to drive her to the hospital to get help. The mother and father subsequently died of AIDS from dirty needles while the son was in his teens. Those are just two stories. I have a lot more, as I’m sure others do to.
Drugs hurt the innocent in the most horrible ways imaginable.
Don’t like to see it and I do feel sorry for them, but the bottom line is exactly as you state.

They had one. I don’t go anywhere near drugs, even legal ones.
There has got to be something seriously wrong for me to take any medication at all, and then only for the period of time I have to take it.
First time I went to Singapore I almost pooped when I was handed this landing card. After seeing it I got rid of my over-the-counter decongestant in the nearby amnesty bin...just in case.
I can understand people calling the ambulance and not attempting to aid the unconscious woman, if they have zero medical training or know that she OD'ed, but why the HELL did it take two minutes for someone to even attempt to comfort the distraught child (or rather, the kid ran to someone she recognized who then tried to comfort her off screen)? What the hell is wrong with people? Who would be able to just stand there and casually chat and film while watching a two year old suffer such terrible emotional trauma? I found that utterly disgusting.
Why are the Hispanics videoing not doing anything to help?? At least check her pulse and call for help instead of using the video app on the phone!!!
Stuff is cheap and relatively uncut. Been a consistent pain in the butt recently in the prison I work at. In some states it’s been cut with veterinary grade fentanyl, a powerful narcotic used, among other things as a sedative for large animals like hippos and elephants. OD’s from those have nearly all been fatal.

Heartbreaking???? People do it to themselves.
What’s heartbreaking is that American taxpayers have to pay the medical bills for these dopers.
I know two people this year that died from heroin.. One was 29 the other 49. They were new to it.. :(
The Philippines are trying something like that now.
Speaking to a friend who is a probation officer in southern Colorado he says heroin has taken over the towns along with something called tar. I guess marijuana isn’t good enough?
We started hearing stories in CA back 10 years ago about heron overdoses.
It was almost always people under 30 from affluent background.
Now its across the country.
Brought to you by Oxycontin prescriptions.
The dealers are all illegal aliens from a specific area in Mexico, and they target youngsters as well as adults. They are under orders to sell only to whites, have spread out to at least 17 states, and have devastated communities that previously have had no experience with heroin.
Yes, it is a matter of choice. But it is us taxpayers who often end up paying for the problem.
“Unless someone is tied up and shot up against their will, heroin is a CHOICE. Cry me a freakin river!”
I totally understand your point. Keep in mind that some heroin is now in pill form. Many teens are getting hooked via the pill having taken it while being stupid at a party. Opioids are *highly* addictive.
This crap shouldn’t be available as cheap as it is on the streets in this country. We coddle people that deal this society destroying crap in jails and let them out with virtually a slap on the wrist only to see them start dealing again.
I wouldn’t hesitate instituting the death penalty for those folk that make a career out of dealing this trash. Heroin and meth destroy society. Those reckless enough to deal it don’t have a lick of respect for anything and should be dealt with accordingly.
Because the nanny-state atmosphere these days, where anyone interacting with a child that’s not theirs is viewed as a molester, has made everyone gun-shy about helping kids. It’s almost to the point where taking your kids out of the house at all is considered too dangerous.
There’s a neighbor-shaming website out there that has a photo of a note some idiot sent their neighbor complaining that the neighbor’s kids playing in their backyard was agitating the idiot’s dogs, and they’d better stop or the idiot was going to sic the police on the neighbor.
Last year in my apt complex, one Indian (H1b) guy took PCB and created havoc, it took 7-8 cops to control him. Later he was kicked out from complex.
