A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer shot and killed an armed man named Keith Scott at an apartment complex Tuesday, while executing an arrest warrant. Angry street protests began almost immediately.
CMPD Chief Kerr Putney reiterated Wednesday morning that Keith Scott was armed when he approached officers in University City Tuesday. Putney said that officers gave repeated verbal commands for Scott to drop his handgun. He said Scott posed a threat to the officers.

Channel 9 obtained an image from the scene of the shooting that shows a gun on the ground near Scotts feet as officers stood around him. Officials confirmed to Channel 9 that is the weapon they confiscated from Keith Scott. (sourcing)

“They are like Muslims...”
A growing percentage of them ARE Muslims.
Stores already do that. They just state, after a cursory investigation that the looted store is “no longer economically viable” and close it. That’s why until recently the city of Detroit had exactly zero national-chain supermarkets in the whole city.

That’s definitely not to be confused with a “Smart Phone”.
It’s also known as a “drop piece” or a “boiled gun”. The latter comes from the practice of actually boiling the gun in water to remove any fingerprints.

The Charlotte PD issues the S&W M&P40 as their standard sidearm and this may well be an officer’s sidearm that was dropped by accident.
“Dash Cam video showed the gun, too.”
You mean the dash cam video that the police will likely never release because a new state law says they can keep these things secret forever? That dash cam video?
Amazon, Walmart,... they all look bad from the political perspective. I still shop both despite politics. I have drawn the line with Target. They are a definite No Go.
In the article above it says: “Officials confirmed to Channel 9 that is the weapon they confiscated from Keith Scott. (sourcing) “
We’ll see what the DOJ says about it. Meanwhile I’m not so trusting of a police department that refuses to release the dash cam video when if the video made them look good they’d have released it right away.
LOL - no way he had a permit with his long history of violence
This could stop the 100% discount sales in Charlotte.

I shop at Walmart for most of my ammo in hundreds a month, and I wish to continue that way, even reinstating AR sales. However politically walmart is in bed with government
Are you sure that’s not a book? (sarc)
Just on with Neil Cavuto on FoxBuziness ... Je$$e HiJack$on just called it an execution in NC.. called the cops executioners.. he could care less about who has their busniesses destroyed by looters and rioters,, supports Kaep and his NFL after darkies campaign.. what a pantload Je$$e still is..
Last night on some forum, someone actually commented on how small the gun was and a LEO shouldn’t be worried if they have a vest. So, that is the new rationale?? What about the LEO’s head? Even if it was a knife or a bat, the officer is in the right to protect himself from harm, just as any other person.
The police will not release the video. Seriously, hold on conclusions.
If the video was favorable, they would have posted it and taken some of the steam out of the rioting.
I have been advocating restraint when it comes to conclusions here regarding what happened based upon what you have noted and “Channel 9 obtained an image from the scene of the shooting that shows a gun on the ground near Scotts feet as officers stood around him. Officials confirmed to Channel 9 that is the weapon they confiscated from Keith Scott. (sourcing)”
“sourcing”.. who took the pic? If the police then I cry foul especially given that it was well after the fact. See the yellow tape. Also it appears that the gun is located far from the scene of the incident itself (not sure).
Just saying.
No police chief faced with days of extreme rioting declines to show the original video to the public showing a “gun in hand?”.
I agree, you have a gun, cop says drop, you don’t drop, then the officer has every, every reason, to shoot. It takes only one fraction of a second to raise a gun and pull a trigger and reaction speed wise, the raising of the gun and pulling of the trigger will occur prior to the officers response to the raising of the gun. In other words, the officer could very well be shot by a suspect that does not drop on command.
